Alex Kokenis (she/her) is a Filmmaker, Editor, and Assistant Editor living in Brooklyn, NY.
Her latest short film, A Pickle and a Coke, is now publicly available after its festival run, which included winning “Best Script” at Chicago Film Frenzy. She has also co-written and co-directed two short films Wednesday and The Root.She is currently writing a queer heist film.
She is also a passionate editor and loves to bring others’ stories to life. She is currently an Assistant Editor for narrative features and a proud member of her union, IATSE Local 700. She is the founder of NYC’s Queer Post Club.
She cites the works of Steven Soderbergh, Lynn Shelton, and The Duplass Brothers as her main inspiration for storytelling, with a huge admiration for the mumblecore movement.
Things she loves: a good vest, horror novels, baking, and bowling.
